Problem: Why Won’t My Parking/Hill Brake Hold?

Most models of golf cars have a two piece brake pedal (with some exceptions, of course). The larger of the two pedals is used for stopping the car and the other, usually smaller, pedal, is used for setting the parking brake, commonly called the ‘hill brake’ throughout the industry. The stop brake pedal is depressed to either pull cables or pressurize a hydraulic master cylinder to activate the rear wheel drum style brakes. We will discuss the stop brake system at a later date.
