Golf Car Catalog offers timing belts for EZGO brand golf carts, utility vehicles and personnel carriers. Timing belts are only used with overhead valve engines within the golf cart industry. The timing belt rides on several pulleys and is used to "time" the crankshaft rotation with the camshaft in the head. The camshaft ultimately controls the movement of the rocker arms and intake and exhaust valves. If your timing belt is not precisely installed and timed, you could get valve to piston interference. It is recommended to replace the timing belt any time the engine is removed from the golf cart or rebuilt.
