Club Car Separately-Excited Electric Motors
GolfCarCatalog offers a wide variety of golf cart motors specific to Club Car. Within this section you will find electric motors for separately-excited golf carts and utility vehicles.
Series-wound and separately-excited motor systems are fundamentally different technology, and are NOT cross-compatible. On Club Car golf carts and utility vehicles, the simplest way to identify which system your vehicle uses is to look under the seat for a run/tow switch. If you have a run/tow switch, your vehicle has a separately-excited drive system. If it does not, you have a series-wound drive system.
Another way to tell whether you have a series-wound or separately-excited drive system is to look at the forward/reverse switch. If the forward/reverse switch is a mechanical lever, you have a series-wound drive system. If you have a push-button forward/reverse switch, you have a separately-excited drive system.
