Golf cart brake shoes are very similar to automotive style drum brakes. Half moon shaped shoes are forced out against the drum when you press the brake pedal, which is connected by brake cables. All modern carts now use self-adjusting mechanisms so you don't need to make adjustments to the shoes, but there are still plenty of manual adjust systems out there. Asbestos is not as common for pad material as it once was. Most of our golf cart brake shoes are non-asbestos.
Golf Car Catalog has a great selection of brake shoes for use with Club Car, Yamaha, EZGO, Cushman, Pargo, Columbia Par Car, Harley-Davidson, Hyundai, Jacobsen, Legend, Davis 500, Noland, and many other brands of golf carts, utility vehicles, and electric veicles.
