This is an open 6004 Ball Bearing that fits on either end of the balancer shaft in all E-Z-GO twin cylinder, 4-cycle, gas engines starting in 1991 to Present. The engine is made by Fuji Heavy Industries of Japan. This bearing fits both the standard golf car fleet 295cc (9hp) engine and the 350cc (11hp) utility vehicle engine brought out a few years later. Either engine requires two (2) of these bearings.
E-Z-GO introduced the 295cc engine in 1991 as standard equipment and it has changed little since then. We recommend the engine seals and the head, exhaust & case gaskets be replaced when the crankshaft is removed. These and other engine bearings & seals are available in this or other sections of our catalog.
Note 1: The 295cc and the 350cc engine look almost identical. The engine ID number is located on the front face of a metal air shroud (early engines) or plastic shroud (later engines) attached on the very front of the engine proper, just behind of the carburetor. A designation of EH29 indicates the 295cc engine. If the label states EH35 then it is the 350cc version. Although the balancer bearings in both engines are the same, other critical parts, such as the head gasket and pistons, are not. Be sure to determine which engine you are repairing before ordering parts.
Note 2: The 295cc engine can be found in the E-Z-GO golf cars and some the small utility trucks, such as the 804 (1991-93) and the Tuff 1 (1994-96). These models have the older boxy diamond plate body. Starting in 1997, the WorkHorse 800 gas truck also used the 295cc engine. Some of the 4 & 6 seater personnel carriers also used this engine. The 350cc engine can be found in the WorkHorse 1200 small wheel utility trucks, the ST-350 model line of lifted trucks and in the Clays Car.
Note 3: E-Z-GO makes some of their utility trucks for other Textron companies. The 295cc & 350cc engines also are found in the Cushman Commander 280 & 2200 trucks, Jacobsen 1110 gas Hauler and in the Steiner ST-350 big wheel truck, all from 1996 through 2004. The Cushman Commander 4800, the Steiner ST-480 and the E-Z-GO WorkHorse ST-480 all used a completely different engine & these counter balance shaft bearings will not fit in those models. Likewise, this bearing is not for use in the 18hp Onan twin-cylinder engine used in the E-Z-GO GT-7 & GXT-1500 heavy duty 3-wheel utility trucks.
This is an open 6004 ball bearing and it requires constant lubrication from the engine oil. It takes 2 bearings to rebuild the engine.
Bearing Dimensions: 1.660" OD x .784" ID x .471" D.
