Wheeled Harley
|
Columbia
ParCar started life in 1963 as Harley Davidson, made by the same
people that made the motorcycles. Over the years several models
have come and gone but the 'Classic' body style with the deep
well, lift back rear body is the best known. It was originally
produced as a 3 wheeler in 1963. Later a 4 wheeled car was made.
The entire rear body lifted up and hinged rearward to reveal the
entire engine (or battery & motor) compartmant. This model
had many changes occur under the hood and several cosmetic ones
too.
The 3 wheel golf car pictured here
is the most familiar version. It was common on many golf courses
in the late 60's and throughout the 70's. Note the chrome 'Tiller
Bar' steering handle. This steering system is common in early
golf cars.
Some Harley 3 wheel cars have steering wheels instead of the tiller
bar. This rear body design proved to be so popular the style continued
into the 90's. Both
the 3 and the 4 wheel cars are equipped with a 250cc, 2 cycle
gas engine or with a 36 volt electric motor powered by 6 six volt
batteries.
Do
you have one of these classical old Harley Golf Cars? But
it's not running or needs repair? We most likely have the
parts and DO have the manual to let you fix it. See the
Maintenance & Repair section of our site. There
are lots of Harley parts there.

Serial
Number Guide:
The golf car vehicle identification number is located on a metal tag
above the left rear tire on the rear frame cross brace on most older
models. For others you will find it behind the batteries in the battery
bank cavity.
We are in the process of creating a chart to show you what year your
Columbia/Harley is based on you vehicle identification number. This
section is always under construction, so feel free to email
any pictures or information about your Columbia Harley.
