The G2 and the G9 are very similar in appearance.  The best way to distinguish the two cars is by the dash trim.  The G2 has aluminum trim around the dash.

Yamaha G3

The G3 is known as the "Sun Classic".   Unfortunately, there is no easy way to tell the difference between the G3 and the G5 due to many similarities in appearance.  If you are unsure as to which you have, consult both the G3 and G5 serial number locators.
